Pet Food Supplements Sales Expected to Rise
Consumers spent $1.3 billion on natural pet care supplements in 2007, and annual sales are expected to continue rising to as much as $1.8 billion by 2012.
In the current issue of Veterinary Practice News, Bill Bookout, president of the National Animal Supplements Council, states that “Supplements are an acceptable component to veterinary medicine [and] are used by 90 to 95 percent of general practitioners and 100 percent of holistic veterinarians.”
Despite recession, successful natural pet products manufacturers and retailers are anticipating annual sales growth of 15-18% in 2009.
